Hi! My name is Amanda and I would like to take just a moment to tell you about the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. This is my story. As a child I was raised in a Christian home. I went to Christian school and I was also home schooled for a few years. I can’t remember a time that I didn’t know about God or about His son Jesus Christ. However, one day while I was sitting in a chapel service at my school the pastor was talking about getting saved. |

He spoke of a heaven and a hell. In order to get to heaven I needed to accept Jesus as my personal savior and ask forgiveness for my sins. I knew that I did NOT want to go to hell. I raised my hand when the pastor asked who wanted to be saved. One of the teachers helped me to understand about my sins such as lying or disobeying my parents. She showed me a verse in the Bible, John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth on him should not perish but have everlasting life.” I did just that. I called upon the name of Jesus and asked forgiveness for my sins. I was saved! I wrote a note, which I still have, telling my parents about what I did. That was on November 5, 1986. Jesus said “let the little children come unto me.” That is exactly what I did. I came with childlike faith to the Savior and asked for him to save me and to cleanse me from my sins. The older I get, the more thankful I am for what God did for me that day. Now that I am a mother, and understand the bond that there is between a parent and a child, I can’t imagine giving one of my children to be sacrificed to pay a debt that someone else owed. However, God loved me enough to send His only son down to this cruel, hate-filled world to take the punishment for my sin! I am a wicked sinner who deserves to go to hell. However, my Jesus loves me and forgave me for all the sins I ever have and ever will commit. It is truly impossible to comprehend! It has now been over 20 years since I was born again. The Lord has done a lot for me. I am constantly learning new things about the Lord. He is teaching me to walk with him day by day. I truly have a relationship with the living God. As I read my Bible and pray, I grow stronger in the Lord. He is the one person in my life that will never, ever leave me. No matter where I go or what I do, He is still there and He still loves me. It is a wonderful and amazing journey - this Christian life, and I am looking forward to many more years of walking and talking with Him. However, one day, maybe soon, I will meet Him in the air and see Him face to face. Oh, what a wonderful day that will be! I hope to see you there as well! The only way to understand it is to experience it. I pray that you will experience His forgiveness in your life so that you can say as I can that, “I am a new creature.” Jesus wants you to take the gift that He is holding out to you today. Please take it. You will never be the same again. I hope to see you in heaven some day.

Admit to God that you are a sinner
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)
Believe that Jesus Christ died to pay for your sin
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:” (1 Peter 3:18)
Call out to Him and ask Him to be your Saviour
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
